Welcome to Prime

With this product you can perform image processing on a scanned document. The purpose of the image processing is to improve the image in a way that makes better results from an automatic object recognition process. Prime is a process that typically is run after georeferencing and before a semi automatic process.

When a document is scanned the resulting image is sometime not perfect. Actually, some kind of improvement can usually be done to it. A bad scan or original may require some improvements. However, the need for doing improvements depends on what the image should be used for. If it is just for viewing, the scanned results might be good enough. If it is for pattern recognition purposes, as many of ProCaptura's software products offers, usually some kind of post processing should be done. This can significantly improve the hit rated of the recognition process of object in the scanned image.

Prime is a standard ProCaptura product for image processing. It contains a collection of functions that has proven, through years of experience, to be useful for automatic recognition of object on maps and drawings. It is not a general image processing system containing all kind of functionality typically used for improving photographic images. It concentrates on improving the content on documents to support better automatic recognition of objects.

With Prime you can for example improve the quality of the line work/ filled in areas, remove dirt spots, filter pattern in solid colored areas, do color separation for individual further processing of each color, etc.
